Scammed by 365webelectro.com

The other day I was going through my debit card purchases and ran across a purchase of $9.95 to "365WEBELECTRO.COM".  Immediately, it seemed fishy.  I thought maybe it was a website I could have bought from, so I went to it.  I have never been to this website before in my life.

I called up Wachovia (now Wells Fargo) to see what this was.  Apparently, this company is a scam that finds your debit card through online purchases (BE CAREFUL OF IDENTITY THEFT PEOPLE!).  Somehow, they managed to charge me 9.95 for absolutely nothing.  Luckily, Wachovia is awesome and they refunded it to me since I disputed the purchase.

I hope these scam artists get turned in to the BBB!  I am sick of these kinds of things happening.

Now, I have to get an all new debit card and change my settings on all of my auto debits for bills.  What a hassle.

You didn't happen to visit Bestbuy.Com or Olivegarden.com? I also got charged and these were the 2 sites that I visited.

Nope, but I've done some online shopping in the past. That must be why. Sorry you got scammed too!

While some of the compromised card data may come from interceptions of online CNP transactions, either during processing, or from exploits of the customer databases. However some victims of this Organized Crime Syndicate over the past several years have been hit with their fraud charges on cards that there never used online. Others have been hit on cards that were never used anywhere. Some victims have been hit sequentially on multiple cards issued by different institutions.

More info here:

Did the line item data from the fraud charge include a phone number or a two letter state abbreviation, or any geographic indicator??.

Thanks MGD, that helps a lot. I hope these crime syndicates can be stopped. Luckily Wachovia reissued me my money, and I wasn't out of a lot to begin with. These people are crooks!

Hi, I had a charge show up on my Wachovia/Wells-Fargo CC today from this dubious website which I have never visited. I called WellsFargo and they credited the amount to me and are going to follow-up on this with the website. Your post helped me confirm this is a scam and back it up with Wachovia. thanks !

Anon--so glad my post was able to help! These people need to get caught by the feds, I'm disgusted by the lack of justice going on!

This was so helpful! Thank you! I got scammed too...made a Christmas purchase for my son from bestbuy.com a couple weeks ago. We were in the store a couple days after Christmas and their system was having problems....twice actually and both times their system was struggling.

That's so crazy that two people who commented shopped at BestBuy.com. Sounds like that must be one of the sources of the CC data

I was just charged by this company (certainly didn't make a purchase from them) - now that I think about it, I did visit BestBuy's website not that long ago (but did not make a purchase) - there certainly seems to be something going on with their website/store. Thanks for posting this!

...leavin some love!
I was charged by this fraud company when I checked my account online. Immediately I checked out this site 365webelectro.com and your blogger appeared. I called my bank and after some investigations promised to grant my claim for the amount 9.62 charged by this company. I hope that this blog will expose them and authorities may catch them as well. Peac and blessings!
